Curley McBroom here, coming to you live from the West Prince Curling
Club. I want to thank Sweeping News for her column last week, however I
have decided to come out of retirement and give the poor lady a hand with
the latest west prince curling news.
Tuesday, November 12 saw the start of Tuesday night competitive curling.
A full roster of eight teams means lots of curling action on the ice. Hurry
Hard! Sweep! Sweep! These eight teams will be throwing rocks until the
end of the curling season to see who has won bragging rights. Currently,
after one night Kevin Ellsworth and his team are in first place.
The Wednesday afternoon drop in curling league has increased in numbers
each week. This league provides a great opportunity to meet up with
friends, throw a few rocks and still be home in the daylight and in time for
supper. New curlers to this league are always welcome.
Registration for Monday and Thursday evening curling shows a keen
interest in curling both of these evenings. We will give you more details
next week.
Upcoming events include:
Our annual Kevin Gallant Memorial Bonspiel takes place on Friday,
November 22 and 23. Please register by November 20. Snacks
throughout the day and a hot meal are included in the cost of registration.
Saturday, December 7 is our First Annual Ham & Turkey Spiel. Come out
for a fun time and a chance to win a ham or turkey. Stick Curlers pay $20
person and regular curlers $25 person. Snacks will be provided throughout
the day. Please register by December 5.
Hurry Hard!
