It was a very exciting weekend at West Prince Curling Club as the Provincial Juniors held their round robin playoffs from January 10 – 12, 2025. The Girls Junior Championship was won by Team Blades, with our very own Reid Hart, Ella Lenentine, Makiya Noonan and Sophie Blades. These young ladies will also be competing in the upcoming Women’s Provincial Championships. The Boys Junior Championship was won by Team Dalton, with Isaiah Dalton, Connor Bruce, Sheamus Herlihy and Nate MacRae. These young men will compete for the Men’s Provincial Championship. The kitchen and the bar will be open so come out to watch some good curling.

On Tuesday, January 14, it was our pleasure to host the Stick Tour. We welcomed 48 curlers. Curlers came from Cornwall, Montague, Crapaud and West Prince were represented. It is always a good time when these curlers get together.

This weekend we are hosting the Township Chev Bonspiel. The winners of this bonspiel will be talked about in next weeks column.

Who doesn’t love a roast beef dinner? Especially when it is combined with the top tapping music provided by Louise Arsenault and Johny Ray. You will be able to enjoy both on Saturday, March 15, at the West Prince Curling Club. Tickets are limited and are only $50 each. Call Lin at 902-859-2294 or email wpcurlingclub@gmail.com to book your seat before they are sold out.

Upcoming events include:

January 23 – 26 – Men’s and Women’s Provincial Championships (formerly the Scotties) will be held here. Come out to watch some great curling.

January 31 – Feb 1 – Tignish Co-op and Home Hardware Bonspiel. Sign up by sending an email to wpcurlingclub@gmail.com or calling Lin at 902-859-2294

Good Curling!
