Policy
After School Program Policy West Prince Curling Club at Mill River 1. Purpose The After School Program aims to provide students aged 10 to 18 with a safe, engaging environment to develop curling skills, foster teamwork, and enjoy recreational activities. 2. Program Details • Location: West Prince Curling Club at Mill River. • Days and Times: Operates Mondays and Thursdays, 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Adjustments may be made for holidays or special events. • Eligibility: Open to students aged 10 to 18 enrolled in local schools or homeschool programs. 3. Registration and Fees • Registration: Required annually. Parents/guardians must complete a registration form and provide emergency contact details. • Fees: Program fees are $161 per student per season. Discounts are available for multiple children of three or more from the same immediate family. Subsidies may be offered upon request for families in financial need. 4. Code of Conduct Participants are expected to: • Respect staff, coaches, peers, and the facility. • Follow safety rules and instructions during curling and other activities. • Refrain from disruptive or harmful behavior. Violations may result in warnings, suspension, or removal from the program. 5. Supervision and Safety • Qualified coaches and program coordinators will supervise all activities. • Students are encouraged to wear appropriate clothing and curling gear, including non-slip footwear and helmets for beginners. • Emergency protocols are in place, including access to first aid and emergency contact numbers. 6. Transportation Parents/guardians are responsible for arranging transportation to and from the program. The club may explore partnerships for shuttle services if demand exists. 7. Attendance and Participation • Participants are encouraged to attend regularly to benefit fully from the program. • Attendance will be tracked to ensure safety and accountability. 8. Weather Cancellations In the event of inclement weather, program cancellations will follow local school closure announcements. Parents will be notified via email or phone. Parent/Guardian Involvement • Parents/guardians are welcome to volunteer or participate in specific events. • Feedback on program activities and performance is encouraged and can be submitted to the program coordinator. 10. Program Evaluation and Improvements The program will be reviewed annually to incorporate feedback, assess effectiveness, and improvements.
